Specialty Sound began out of necessity back in 1989.  Tommy had accumulated quite a large collection of music during college (yes - those were records back then!)  His friend, Korby, had the technical knowledge of putting together a sound system, and owned a company that did dance lighting for school events.

When Tommy's college fraternity couldn't come up with a DJ for the 1989 Spring Formal, Tommy and Korby rescued the event.  "It was a matter of days before we started getting calls from other fraternities and sororities to DJ their events.  Within two weeks, Specialty Sound was born!" says Tommy.

Specialty Sound is now  ranked among the best DJ companies in the Dallas / Fort Worth area.  

Why?  "Well, I think it comes down to the fact that we strive to exceed the expectations of our clients. Wedding Receptions comprise over 90% of our business, and that is a momentous occasion in the life of the bride and groom.  They want to be relaxed, have a great time, and not have to worry about a thing. It's a "once-in-a-lifetime" event, and that's a really big deal to me. I strive to help them see and acheive the potential of their reception. Memorable and classy - that's the goal", says Tommy.

Tommy is also very active in the DJ and wedding communities of Dallas / Fort Worth. "Helping others to grow their businesses encourages me to continually grow mine, so that I can stay a step ahead."

Tommy is a native of Fort Worth, and lives in the Mid Cities with is wife Cindy (an amazing wedding photographer), and two children. Tommy Graduated UT Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems.
